Chesney Mews is a 47-lot subdivision situated at the corner of Chesney & McQuarrie Streets in Invercargill. Ryal Bush were engaged as Lead Contractor to undertake all works with several subcontractors supporting in specialist tasks. We had a goal of delivering this project with as much of our own resources as possible. This included delivering as much of the aggregate supply from our Viner Rd Quarry. Of the over 30,000t we achieved 98% was from our Quarries.

Throughout the project, we were seeking continual improvement. At every turn we assessed the desired outcome for both Contractor & Client. With the large footprint and material placement being a key component using GPS systems played a key role. At the halfway mark of the project, we took delivery of a new John Deere 325G Skidsteer with Topcon 3D GPS. This machine was a key component of getting a high-quality finish to the exact designs provided by the Design Engineer.

Ryal Bush received a ‘Highly Commended’ Award at the 2025 Southland Civil Contractors New Zealand Awards for their efforts with the Chesney Mews subdivision.
